The Wing's Diner Story
Wing’s Diner was the result of flatmates Kevin and Wayne’s friendly but competitive ‘Well Fed Wednesday’, where each week they would alternate cooking for each other.
One week Kevin was reminiscing about some fried chicken that he had enjoyed on a previous trip to London, so Wayne decided to knock up a batch of Korean style fried chicken wings, they were a hit, quickly becoming a regular feature whenever friends were invited over for dinner.
After seeing how well those wings were received by our friends, and noticing that there was a distinct lack of decent fried chicken available in Bristol at the time, Kevin and Wayne started to think about how they could turn this by product of ‘Well Fed Wednesday’ into some kind of pop up event.
So on the 6th February 2016 we hosted our first official Wing’s Diner pop up night at St Werburgh’s Community Centre, the night ran far from smoothly, however we learned from our mistakes and continued to host pop ups around Bristol, and even once in Cardiff, sporadically throughout the year.

Fast forward to January 2018, where following several successful residencies at pubs such as The Rope Walk and The Robin Hood, we were invited back to the kitchen of Small Bar.
The response to our food from the customers at Small Bar was incredible, and as a result we were invited to make their kitchen our permanent home.
We continue to serve up our Asian inspired fried chicken, alongside some world class craft beers, with the aim of one day being able to open up our first Wing’s Diner restaurant.
We thank you all for your support whilst we undertake this journey!
